RALEIGH -- For the second time this week, thousands of gallons of sewage was found spilling from a manhole on the citys southside on Thursday evening.
The city estimates that the manhole, at the back of 4112 Kaplan Drive, had been superfluous for 3 days, spilling an estimated 28,800 gallons of sewage. More than half of the sewage reached an unnamed run to Walnut Creek.
The brief was caused by the prejudiced fall of a cesspool main, according to the city. It was reported at 7:30 p.m. and stopped an hour later.
Earlier in the week, a cesspool main clogged with paper towels and tatters caused an estimated 19,200 gallons of sewage to upsurge in to Walnut Creek. The sewage was reported spilling from a manhole at the back of 1712 Lake Wheeler Road about 2 p.m. Wednesday and expected had been superfluous about dual days.
